Lines

There are two kind of lines: The lines which are drawn automatically (the grid), and lines you draw by yourself.

Grid lines

In the menu, click "Chart settings", and navigate to the "Grid" tab, to customize the look and feel of the grid lines.

Customize grid lines

When you choose "Custom" in the settings, you can:
- Customize the line thickness and color of the grid lines;
- Set custom line thickness and color for every 5th grid line (or different interval);
- Set custom line thickness and color for every 10th grid line (or different interval).

Grid line highlights

By default, every 5th and 10th grid line is highlighted.

The interval is set to every 5th and 10th grid line. You can change this interval by choosing "Custom".

You can disable the automatic highlights by choosing the "Default (without highlights)", or by choosing "Custom" and set the thickness of every 5th and 10th line to "Not used".

Draw your own lines

Click the "Draw lines" button. Press down your left mouse button to start drawing a line. Move around with your mouse while holding down the mouse button to see how the line will look like. When you release the mouse button, the line is added.

Color of your own lines

Before drawing your own line, choose a color at the left side of your screen. Add a color to your chart when you haven't added a color to your chart yet, by clicking the +1 button.

The color is shown as a filled in box in the listing.

Add description to the legend

For knitting charts, you can add a description to the lines you have drawn. This description is shown in the legend as a white box with a border in that particular color.

On your computer: Click with your right mouse button on the color in the listing at the left side of your screen, navigate to the "More" tab, and enter the description.

On your phone or tablet: Tap and hold the color in the listing at the left side of your screen, navigate to the "More" tab, and enter the description.

This option is only available to knitting charts, and only when you have used the color to draw a line. You draw a line first, before entering its description.

Remove your own lines

To remove a line, click the "Draw lines" button when you're not in the line drawing mode yet. Click with your right mouse button on a line to remove it. You can also hold down the CTRL-key while clicking on it.

On a mobile device, tap and hold for a sec on a line to remove it.

Back stitches in cross stitch charts

You can draw lines to indicate back stitches in your pattern.

The back stitches are being drawn as full stitches by default. In the 'Edit' menu, you can change the "Snap to full stitch" setting to draw half stitches or quarter stitches.

Repeats in knitting charts

Repeats for knitting charts are indicated by enclosing the stitch into lines which you can draw. After drawing the lines, click with your right mouse button on the color in the palette at the left side of your screen to set the repeat count on the 'More' tab.
